Rugby Athletic Submissions due May 1st!!

Updates

Good afternoon rugger family! We wanted to quickly send out information from the athletic office that we have received. This might be a repeat of information for some and our apologies if that is the case. We just want to ensure that everyone is receiving ALL information.

SPRING ATHLETE SUBMISSION:

We have just been told that this was not sent out to many families in the Rugby Club and therefore the turn around deadline is tight. We do not know why some received this and others did not however, better late than never.

Happy Monday Spring Athlete Families!

While we are so disappointed that this season didn't go on as planned, the Athletic Department would like to recognize all of the 2020 Spring Athletes by creating a "Team Photo" collage.  We have teamed up with the RHS Graphic Design department to make this happen!

We need your help! If you could please submit a headshot (head and shoulders only) image of your athlete to the below link, along with their full name and spring team by Friday May 1, that would be amazing!  For those that do not submit a photo, their name will be placed with "Photo Unavailable."  Our plan is to create a publication and also an opportunity to purchase a photo or a download.  Once we have solidified the details - we will send out further information. If you have any questions, please email Kristi Swayze atkswayze@rockfordschools.org

A couple pointers for getting a good pic:

1) Don't have a window behind them (if anything, have them face a window)

2) Standing outside in the shade for the photo will give you the best quality

3) Take the photo head and shoulders, don't take it full length and crop it.

The link is a Padlet site that is very user friendly.  You can upload from a phone or computer.

Directions to upload your photo:

Click here

Click on the Pink Circle + in the bottom right corner

Use the Upload link to select an image from your computer or phone's camera roll

You will see "Uploading" (it may take 30 seconds or so)

Click where it says "Title" to add your athletes FIRSTand LASTname and TEAM

On a Phone, click Save and you're done!

On a Computer, click off your image and you're done!

If you have questions on uploading the photo -  please email Melissa Burkholder atmburkholder@rockfordschools.orgThank you for your help in our plans to create a team photo for our spring athletes!

MAY 19th SIGNING DAY

If you have a rugger who is signing with or committing to a university to continue his athletic career please submit they information to the athletic office prior to May 19th. Also, please email coaches to let them know so that they can be in on any celebrations that take place. The athletic office is working to determine how they will work the signing day in a safe manner to celebrate committed athletes. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to the athletic office or Coach Dauser, Coach Gent or Coach Crosby.

SENIORS!

If you have a senior or know of a senior that you would like to support please visit this Facebook page here . This is the Adopt A Senior page that people in the community have put together. By “adopting” a senior, or two, or more… you pledge to send a letter, card, gift, gift card, snack, gift basket, etc. to let them know you care. Here’s how it works:

• A senior student or the parent of senior (or family friend of senior) makes a post

• The post starts with the words “not adopted” and then includes the student’s name, where they go to school, details about their future plans, and a few pictures.

• For those looking to adopt a senior, you simply comment on the post of the senior you want to adopt.

• When a student is adopted, the post will be edited to say adopted. • Each student can be adopted up to three times so that every student gets to participate.

🧡🖤 Once you’ve adopted a senior, ask for ideas like favorite snacks, places to eat, stores they love. 📦🥰 Please privately exchange personal information with the person who nominated the senior as to where to send/drop off the seniors gift/card etc.

A lot of seniors are adopted but some are taking it upon themselves to continue to adopt our seniors to show them their support during this unprecedented time. If you have any questions about this please do not hesitate to reach out to Coach Crosby or the Adopt A Senior Page administrator.

We hope that everyone is staying safe, healthy and sane (as much as possible) during this time. We continue to work tirelessly behind the scenes to try and do anything we can for a match or two for our ruggers this summer. As more information becomes available we will continue to update you.
