Hello Rugby family! We miss not being able to see everyone, especially on the pitch. We wanted to quickly update everyone with information that we have as of right now.
Fees and Dues:
We have decided as a club that we will not process any dues checks for this season, we have not processed any payments and will therefore shred all checks that came in for the season. The CIPP fee that everyone paid of $80 comes from two different entities; Michigan Rugby and USA Rugby.
Michigan Rugby should have refunded $45 to everyone and if you haven’t received it yet please know that it is coming.
USA rugby has chosen not to refund their $35 portion of fees at this time with the idea that we might be able to field teams this summer for tournaments and their insurance would cover our participation in these tournaments. We will keep you up to date if this changes. However, we know that $35 is a lot of money for a lot of people so please reach out to us if this is a hardship. We want to make sure that no one in our rugby family is hurting because of unforeseen circumstances so, please do not hesitate to reach out to any coaches.
Future games, tournaments:
As we are sure everyone has been made aware; MHSAA has cancelled all winter tournaments and all spring sports for this season. This was a tough blow to our ruggers and our families, we have a great team this season and we have 10 seniors who really wanted to finish out their last year with our club.
With that said; Coaches are working with other clubs and organizations to look at options of a few games this summer for all of the ruggers in the state. Possibly even a west side vs. east side event. All plans and options are being looked at to try and get something together for our ruggers, especially our seniors who would like one more opportunity to play. As with everything right now, all meetings and discussions are being had with the understanding that everything is dependent upon the current state of events and executive orders in place. Nothing can be nor will be done that goes against any public safety or executive orders that are in place. The health and welfare of our ruggers has always and must always come first and foremost.
Seniors and Senior Parents!!! Please send us a photo of your senior, their plans (if known) for after high school and any additional information you would like to share. We will highlight our seniors every week on our website and our Facebook page. So start sending us information and let’s celebrate all that these young men have accomplished over these last 4 years!!
We will continue to update everyone as any new information becomes available to us. The athletic office is updating with information on a semi weekly basis with the Rockford athletic director and every time he goes live on Facebook they announce a new contest.These contests have prizes that range from new uniforms, new team warm ups, new equipment etc…. for any teams including club sports. Please keep an eye out on the Rams athletic page for the dates and times of these events so we can compete for some great gear!
